Chef, author and television personality Giada De Laurentiis plans to open her very first restaurant in early 2014 at the upcoming and all-new luxury lifestyle resort Gansevoort Las Vegas. As a long time Las Vegas resident I’m pleased to have this little gem in our city. This innovative concept is expected to open in early 2014 in conjunction with the hotel and casino.
If you aren’t familiar with Giada De Laurentiis, let me help pull up the rock you’ve been under. Once you find your way to the top, you’ll find that Giada is an Emmy Award winning, globally renowned celebrity chef and television personality THAT just happens to be a New York Times best-selling author. Can you tell I’m a fan!
“Giada De Laurentiis brings her extensive culinary background to her new restaurant. De Laurentiis cultivated her staple Italian cuisine in the kitchen of her grandfather’s restaurant and later commenced her culinary career at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Since her debut in 2002, De Laurentiis has become one of the Food Network’s most recognizable faces, starring in many TV shows, “Everyday Italian,” “Giada’s Weekend Getaways,” “Giada in Paradise: Capri, Santorini, Monaco and Thailand,” “Giada At Home” and the highly popular series, “Food Network Star.”
Here’s a fact that I bet is a shocker, did you know that Giada is also a correspondent on NBC’s Today? She highlights current trends in travel, cuisine and lifestyle. How could you not lover her. De Laurentiis, author of six cookbooks, all of which have charted on the New York Times best-seller list. Along with three upcoming new releases this Fall: Giada De Laurentiis’s Recipe for Adventure: Naples! and Paris! (September 2013), the first two books in a new children’s chapter book series that transports readers to famous food cities around the world; and Giada’s Feel Good Food (November 2013), a collection of Giada’s secrets for staying fit and her healthy recipes.
I can honestly say Las Vegas is elated to welcome both Giada and the Gansevoort Hotel to our revitalization portion of Downtown Las Vegas….welcome!
And since this is a cupcake site, I can’t leave you without sharing one of my favorite cupcake recipes of her. Giada’s jade’s strawberry-filled cupcakes are amazing. Two things I love about this cupcake; (1) it uses quinoa flour and (2) there aren’t a ton of ingredients. Most of which I carry in my pantry anyway.
Have you ever made one of Giada’s recipes?
Ceasars no longer will be attached to the name Ganesvoort and this project has ended. Sad but true.
